INTERNATIONAL GUITAR NIGHT (IGN) is the longest-running "mobile guitar festival" in North America. Each year, IGN founder Brian Gore of San Francisco is joined by three of the world's foremost acoustic guitarists to perform their latest original compositions and exchange musical ideas in a public concert setting. For the November 2009 Canadian Tour and 10th Annual U.S. Tour in January/February 2010, IGN founder Brian Gore welcomes Lulo Reinhardt, a descendant of Django from Germany who mixes his family's trademark Gypsy Jazz with new forays into Latin music; Itamar Erez from Israel whose symphonic compositions echo his Middle Eastern roots, and renowned harp guitarist Stephen Bennett from Virginia. www.internationalguitarnight.com About The Artists: Lulo Reinhardt Co-founder of Django Reinhardt and the Heartbreakers, German born guitarist Lulo Reinhardt (www.lulo-reinhardt-project.de ) is an exceptionally talented guitarist who has an outstanding reputation as a composer and guitarist, and has received international acclaim. His performing style reflects upon the many places he has traveled, most notably Spain and Southern America, where he explored various styles of Latin jazz. Lulo's artistic personality, heavily inspired by gypsy influences, combined with his passion for Latin jazz results in a rhythmic flowing symbiosis of elegance and spirit.
Itamar Erez Israeli-born, Canadian based composer, pianist and guitarist Itamar Erez's (www.myspace.com/itamarerez ) music is a crossover of various genres from European classical and jazz, to world music and beyond. Leader of the Adama World Music Ensemble, Itamar's music has also been commissioned and performed by various soloists, ensembles and orchestras internationally including The BBC Singers, ALEA II and the Standing Wave Ensemble. From 2002-2004, Itamar collaborated with film director Rafi Spivak in short films The Man in Pajamas premiered at several film festivals in Canada and Europe. Erez also worked on the soundtrack for the National Film Board's documentary, Raised to be Heroes, which premiered at 2007's Hot Docs and Vancouver International Film Festival.
Stephen Bennett Harp guitarist Stephen Bennett (www.harpguitar.com ) is an extraordinary musician who has garnered critical praise and audience enthusiasm for his live performances. This Oregon native, who grew up in New York and now calls Virginia home, is known for his intellectually challenging and emotionally satisfying compositions. Bennett has the ability to speak directly to your heart and make you feel as though he is playing to only you in a room full of listeners. Stephen has released 18 solo cds along with a couple of books and dvds and is also the founder of the Harp Guitar Gathering, a weekend of performances and workshops, which will celebrate its seventh season in October 2009.
Brian Gore San Francisco based Brian Gore (www.myspace.com/guitaristbriangore ) has built a reputation as one of the most influential and interesting performers of the next generation of finger-style guitarists. His compositions are drawn from myth and modern day literature, Brian has "...one of the most unique new acoustic guitar styles on the scene today," (News and Review). Brian started International Guitar Night in 1999 performing around California and, since then, it has grown to include many states in the US, as well as across Canada and into the UK.
