This camp will start with “auditions”! Each camper will submit a video audition to Bailey Wax by June 26th! We will send a side from the script and a cut of a song for the audition. Again, everyone is a part of our online video performance, but we will have roles assigned for the camp. There will be multiple castings of certain roles. The cast list will be emailed on Wednesday, July 1st.
Script and Music will be sent to you via Dropbox but we will have a “drive by” outside the Hartley/Vey Studio on North Blvd to pick up your scripts and T-shirts on Saturday, June 27th from 10:00am-12:00pm.
Camp will start on Monday, July 6th at 9:00am. The structure of the day (9:00am-3:00pm) will be divided into sessions with daily warm-ups, music, acting, voice, and speech through ZOOM.
Lunch will be at 11:30am-12:30pm with built in breaks throughout the day. Our Stage Manager Miss Emma will email the daily schedule the night before with links to the different sessions. There will be entire ensemble sessions as well as small group activities with all three: music, dance, and acting. We will discuss the differences between acting on the stage vs our virtual performance, as well ensemble building exercises. At 2:00pm each day, we will have a surprise guest speaker. We have a very exciting lineup of talented creatives. Your children will be able to hear from working theatre and film actors, local producers, and even see some familiar camp faces as previous campers come back to give advice on college and beyond. At 2:45pm, we will have a cool down period with Miss Bailey. Campers are dismissed at 3:00pm.
As we get into our 2nd week, July 13th-17th, we will start putting together scenes and songs our performance and explore how we will record our scenes and songs that will be edited by Mr. Gray to create one video of our performances! Guest Speakers continue into Week 2 and will be more specialized on camera work. Camp hours stay the same Week 2: 9:00am-3:00pm with lunch from 11:30am-12:30pm.
Get ready to be transported to New York City back into the 1930’s! It may be a Hard Knocked Life now, but once camp starts and we are all back together…online…the sun’ll come out, tomorrow, betch your bottom dollar that tomorrow, there’ll be sun!
