Arts in Medicine: A Season of Gratitude

Our Patients' Experience

Thousands of patients have experienced hope and healing at Baton Rouge General, and each of their stories is unique. Whether they are recovering from an injury or dealing with a long-term illness, Arts in Medicine has given them a chance to focus on something other than their pain and worry. This exhibit illustrates our patients’ feelings of gratitude during their treatment.

Many express thankfulness for their families and friends. Others are grateful for a second chance at life. One artist is inspired by his namesake, a Viking warrior who symbolizes strength and courage.

Finding the artist within, the patients at Baton Rouge General have created beautiful paintings of mountains, music, rainbows, sunsets and nature --- images that allow them to reflect on the blessings of life and appreciate the gift of each new day.
