About the Masterclass:

Contemporary Modern (Horton Based) - This class is catered towards pre-professional and professional dancers looking for a challenging experience in contemporary modern dance. Rooted in Horton technique fundamentals, this class will integrate anatomical principles with modern dance technique to engage deep body awareness and an efficient physical practice. Through center and across the floor exercises dancers will investigate deep connections to their already existing foundations, pushing endurance and expanding physical practices through rigorous choreographic phrases.

About the Film:

Through archival footage and audio — the film is essentially narrated by the man himself — interviews with contemporaries and those he inspired, and a look inside the studio of the modern-day Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, which celebrates its 60th anniversary in the film, “Ailey” attempts to understand an artist .
