overview

European Film Month

in partnership with LSU screen Arts and LSU Libraries
Sponsored by Radio Bar, Highland Coffees, MJs Café, and the Swiss Consulate of Atlanta

Each year we present the latest award-winning films from across Europe throughout the month of March. Films will feature additional programing from LSU Screen Arts, including the Film School Crash Course before select titles. This year’s event will close with a special screening of IN THE AISLES before the film’s theatrical release.

Each screening will also offer wine, beer, and liquor pairings based on the country being featured.

Daughter of Mine "Figlia Mia" (2018) - Italy

Director: Laura Bispuri
Writers: Francesca Manieri, Laura Bispuri
Actors: Valeria Golino, Alba Rohrwacher, Sara Casu

A 10-year-old girl living in a Sardinian village has no idea that her loving mother and the impetuous, free-spirited Angelica are connected by a secret. The girl's mother seems anxious about her daughter getting to know Angelica.

“Ardent and primal, the film addresses complicated ideas with head-clearing clarity.” -NYTimes
