Overview

European Film Month

in partnership with LSU screen Arts and LSU Libraries
Sponsored by Radio Bar, Highland Coffees, MJs Café, and the Consulate General of Switzerland in Atlanta

Each year we present the latest award-winning films from across Europe throughout the month of March. Films will feature additional programming from LSU Screen Arts, including the Film School Crash Course before select titles. This year’s event will close with a special screening of IN THE AISLES before the film’s theatrical release.

Each screening will also offer wine, beer, and liquor pairings based on the country being featured.

The Sower "Le Semeur" (2017) - France

Director: Marine Francen
Writer(s): Marine Francen, Jaqueline Surchat
Actors: Pauline Burlet, Geraldine Pailhas, Alban Lenoir

Violette is old enough to get married when her village in the Lower Alps is cruelly deprived of all its men by the repression that followed the republican uprising of December 1851. For the next two years, the village is completely cut off. The women swear an oath that if a man should come, he will become their shared husband, so that life may continue to flourish in each of their wombs.

All patrons, regardless of age, must have a ticket to attend performances. Please carefully consider whether a performance is appropriate for children before planning to attend.
