59th Annual Fortier-Gerbrecht Jazz Invitational, hosted by the Baton Rouge Jazz Ensemble.
Outstanding Jazz Ensembles and Combos from five area high schools and one middle school will participate in this year’s 59th Annual Fortier-Gerbrecht Jazz Invitational Concert partnered by the Baton Rouge Magnet High School Instrumental Music Department and the Baton Rouge Jazz Ensemble.
Performing ensembles that are known for delivering stellar Invitational performances every year are from: St. George Catholic School, Baton Rouge Magnet High School, Catholic High School, Central High School, and St. Michael High School.
Over the year, the Jazz Invitational Concert has proven to be a great showcase of talented young jazz musician. Back by popular demand to the 2026 line-up is the Baton Rouge Jazz Ensemble.
With a mission of spreading the sounds of Big Band Jazz throughout BR and surrounding communities, BRJE is a 19-piece Big Band comprised of professional and amateur musicians, incorporated in Louisiana as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
