Accessibility

Non-Discrimination Clause

Douglas Manship Sr. Theatre Complex Holding, Inc (Manship Theatre) does not discriminate on the basis of race/ethnicity, color, national origin, gender, LGBTQIA status, disability, veteran status, or age in the administration of any of its employment, outreach, educational programs, events, and other programs.

Wheelchair Accessibility

Entrances to Manship Theatre on both Lafayette and Third Streets are wheelchair accessible. Handicapped seating is available on all three levels of Manship Theatre. Patrons can either view performances from the comfort of their wheelchair, or use one of several transfer seats, designed to easily assist the patron in and out of the theatre seat. Click here for information about parking options.

Elevators are located on the LEFT side of the Theatre, by the bar.

Please call us at (225) 344-0334 to reserve one of our transfer or wheelchair accessible seats.

Hearing assistance devices

Manship Theatre can provide hearing assist devices for most of our live performances. Our devices can be used with a provided over-ear piece, or may be able to connect to the patron's hearing aid. Please contact us at boxoffice@manshiptheatre.org if you would like to request a hearing assistance device, or have questions about our hearing assistance services. *At this time we do not have a hearing assist device for films. However, through our partnership with Louisiana Public Broadcasting, we are able to show PBS Kids films for free - we always opt for the films that provide on-screen ASL whenever possible. We will clearly advertise any on-screen ASL films we’re showing.

Sensory friendly

Capital Area Autism Network and Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Health partnered with us to provide free sensory bags to our guests. Just request one at the ticket desk. We often program sensory-friendly shows, featuring NO flashing or strobe lights, sudden volume increases, or loud noises. These are also "non-shushing" shows, so audiences are not discouraged from vocalizing or helping to tell the stories as they unfold.
